School Of Swimmer Swimming Pool Dinnington

My name is Bab’s and I'm the founder of the School of Swimmers. I have been teaching swimming for over twenty years to children and adults of all ages and abilities, something that I still find immensely rewarding. Previously I was a secondary Special Needs physical education teacher in Birmingham, it was there that my love for the teaching of swimming blossomed. Over the years I have worked in both private and council run pools as a swimming teacher as a second job.

Sixteen years ago I was diagnosed with “Wilsons Disease” a genetic disorder, I was told that I would probably never drive, work, have children or be able to carry out everyday tasks without assistance, I was determined to prove the doctors wrong. After five years I set up Little Turtles Swim School in Nottingham which grew from strength to strength, but my ultimate goal was to own my own pool.

So here I am with my two young girls living my personal dream in Dinnington. My mission statement to the community is to share my love and passion for swimming with everyone we teach.

The School of Swimmers has not received any government or private funding and is born of a personal dream to provide tailor made, high quality swimming facilities in your local community. I personally invested my life savings into providing the community of Dinnington a high quality swim services and believe that the best way to build confidence and learn to swim safely is to provide structured lessons with a low teacher to pupil ratio. This enables us to constantly adapt our small tailor made classes to specifically suit the age and ability of each specific group or child.

We at the School of Swimmers continue to learn many new ways to improve our teaching not just from other professionals and organizations but most importantly, from our pupils themselves.

If my team at the School of Swimmers or myself make a difference to just one life in the teaching of swimming then this whole journey has been worthwhile.
